Sway Bowmen is a friendly archery club within the New Forest National Park, our shooting ground is on the outskirts of Sway where we are fortunate to have unlimited access to our range.
Welcome to the club
A field, a target, and good company
We shoot outdoors on our own grounds through the summer and indoors at the village hall in winter. Recurve, longbow, barebow and compound are all welcome.
Whether you want gentle recreation, friendly competition, or simply an hour of quiet concentration in the fresh air, you’ll find it here. Tea and biscuits are non-negotiable.
New to archery
Never shot before? Perfect.
Our beginners’ course teaches you everything from safety to your first scored round. All equipment is provided — just bring flat shoes and enthusiasm.

Learn the ropes
Spend time with our friendly coaching sessions. Small groups, no rush, plenty of arrows.
Join the club
Finish the course and you’re invited to join as a full member, with help choosing your first bow.

Fees include Archery GB affiliation and insurance. Pay by bank transfer.

Established archers with current AGB membership/insurance are welcome to shoot with us. This costs £5 per session for a maximum of three sessions. Access to the ground requires the attendance of a Sway member so contact us via this website to make arrangements.
